Megan Kelley’s practice emphasizes divorce and family law.
Ms. Kelley graduated from Seattle University School of Law in the top 12% of her class. The school awarded her degree cum laude, meaning “with distinction”. Ms. Kelley also graduated with Pro Bono Distinction, completing over 250 hours of pro bono work during law school.
During law school, Ms. Kelley served as the Executive Editor at Large for the Seattle University Law Review, one of the highest and most competitive honors for law students. She also received CALI Awards in Advanced Legal Research as well as in Law and Business of Art and Cultural Heritage, an award given to the student with the highest grade in the class. Ms. Kelley acquired many other honors during law school, including an induction into the Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society (an award given to only 4% of the graduating class who distinguish themselves in scholarship, loyalty, and service), received a Trustee Scholarship and the Costello Law Scholarship, and was on the Dean’s List (top 10% of her class) 2015-2016 and 2017-2018.
Notably, Ms. Kelley also externed for the Honorable Justice Debra L. Stephens of the Washington State Supreme Court. There, she drafted a published dissenting opinion and numerous memoranda recommending decisions on a variety of legal issues to Justice Stephens.
Assisting families has been a longstanding passion for Ms. Kelley. For the last four years she volunteered as a CASA – a court-appointee who performs custody-related investigations and offers child-placement recommendations. Ms. Kelley also volunteers for Snohomish County Legal Services in their Family Law Clinic where she helps low-income clients with family law matters.
